It will not often be deemed the sexiest game in the arena of betting, but keno has millions and millions of devoted fans. And so it should! It’s a constantly exciting lotto-esque game that’s a breeze to master, readily available in tons of assorted variations, and one that might return millions of dollars for people who learn its countless subtle rules. But let’s start with the basic rules here.
When describing keno to beginners, some wagering experts compare it to the lottery. This is at least in some measure correct, in that both games are generally numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far will be to downplay the many unique aspect that make keno so fun. Unlike bingo, keno players have the ability to select the numbers for each and every card.
Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the user is given an additional degree of personal responsibility by being able to decide on as many (or as few) numbers as he or she thinks is appropriate. And it doesn’t take a genius to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your selected numbers with a ordinary#2 pencil like you used when you were a kid.
Once you’ve checked your numbers, take the game card back to the person at the keno stand. The person will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Don’t lose this (potentially) valuable piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your face and would like to help out, without a winning ticket on you, you will be given exactly $.00 for your actions.
And there you have strategy #1: always make sure to keep your keno receipt. Let us advance to something a tiny bit more complicated, ok?
Once you’ve picked out your numbers, get yourself into a comfortable keno booth and watch the action unfold on the video monitor. That is where the winning numbers appear for all to see. If you have winners, mark your card aptly. Be sure not to drag your feet, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You must get up to the keno stand to redeem your winnings, as a new keno game will certainly get going within not too many minutes.
Strategy number two: always get back to the keno stand on time!
Assuming you can’t trust yourself to beat that five-minute deadline each and every time, you always have the option of using a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your desired numbers on anywhere from two to twenty slips. When the max number of rounds (fitting the amount of tickets) is played out, you can then get off your lazy back side and go retrieve your winnings.
Still another choice is recognized as a "stray and play" keno card, which normally lets you make number choices for thirty rounds or more. Heck, you can take vacation to France and not have to worry about getting back in time to get your numbers. Most "stray and play" game cards are good for up to a whole year after purchase!
So now you know a handful of required methods for winning keno. If you are an accomplished keno player, they might appear to be very obvious. But it doesn’t hurt to brush up on the basics, and if you are a novice player, every tiny bit of advice will help make your keno betting more fun.
